Harpur Centre Florist – Senior Florist

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Senior Florist to join our vibrant floral team. Full-time, Permanent Pay: £14.00 per hour. 40 per week. To apply, please email enquiries@harpurcentreflorist.co.uk 

 

The ideal candidate will possess a keen eye for colour, design, and detail, with the ability to create stunning floral arrangements for a variety of occasions. This role offers an opportunity to lead floral projects, mentor junior staff, and contribute to the aesthetic appeal of our shop. A strong understanding of horticulture and gardening principles is essential, along with excellent organisational and communication skills.

 

Duties
  • Design and create bespoke floral arrangements for events, weddings, and daily retail sales
  • Lead floral projects from conception through to completion, ensuring high standards of quality and presentation
  • Mentor and support junior florists
  • Manage stock levels of flowers, foliage, and accessories; oversee ordering and inventory control
  • Assist with merchandising displays to optimise visual appeal and sales potential
  • Provide excellent customer service by understanding client needs and offering expert advice on floral choices
  • Stay informed about current floral trends
Skills
  • Proven experience as a Florist with a strong portfolio of floral designs
  • Knowledge of gardening and plant care principles
  • Excellent communication skills to liaise effectively with clients and team members
  • Organised with strong organisational skills to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Proficient in merchandising techniques to enhance product presentation and sales
  • Ability to work under pressure while maintaining attention to detail
  • Creative flair combined with practical knowledge of floral arrangement techniques
